Ground Type Glass Insulator Description:

Ground type glass insulator is a kind of insulator made of glass material, which is mainly used in high-voltage and ultra-high-voltage transmission lines, with good insulating properties and mechanical strength. According to the different installation methods, the insulators can be divided into suspension type and pillar type, in which the suspension insulators are mainly used for overhead lines, and their main function is to support the transmission wires, ensure the electrical insulation between the wires and the pylons, and prevent the current from being lost to the ground through the pylons, so as to guarantee the safety and efficiency of power transmission.

Ground Type Glass Insulator Features:

Material advantage: compared with porcelain insulators, it has better arc resistance and not easy to age. Tempered glass has a uniform texture and even after burns the new surface remains smooth and maintains adequate insulating properties.

Production process: Production includes the selection of suitable raw materials, such as siliceous sand, feldspar, etc. The quality and performance of the product is ensured through several stages, such as melting, moulding, annealing and testing.

Self-cleaning performance: the surface is not easy to accumulate dirt in the atmosphere, which can better resist environmental pollution and reduce the maintenance workload, which is especially important in reducing the flashover accident caused by pollution.

Zero-value self-destruct mechanism: It has the ability to rupture automatically when serious internal damage occurs, known as ‘zero-value self-destruct’, a feature that enables it to self-destruct when it reaches the end of its service life, avoiding potential safety risks.
